This body of work focuses on colonialism and its ongoing implications on the ways in which we live today. These works tell an open-ended story, open for interpretation
There are many element incorporated into the surface of each of these works, including old colonial and early explorers’ maps, text from The Colonial Times (a Tasmanian newspaper in circulation during the ‘Black Wars’ in Tasmania in 1826-1832).
First and foremost, they are representations of my own thought process laid down to form a personal story, but when shown to a public it becomes an open ended story that is constructed by the viewer. These works are there to instigate a personal dialogue about what might be taking place; they are not definitive.
